||As part of the 225th Anniversary celebration of Maryland Freemasonry, Howard Lodge No. 101 was tasked by the Grand Lodge to perform Memorial Services at the gravesites of two Past Grand Masters, Daniel Hope and W. Norman Penn. To that end, Lodge Brothers assembled on November 10th and traveled to Lorraine Cemetery in Baltimore and Cedar Hill Cemetery in Glen Burnie to complete this important undertaking.
Brother Daniel Hope served as the Worshipful Master of Howard Lodge No. 101 from 1922 through 1923 and as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Maryland from 1945 through 1946. Brother W. Norman Penn served as the Worshipful Master of Howard Lodge from 1937 through 1938 and as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Maryland from 1967 through 1968. Both shone a positive light on our Lodge throughout their tenures, and exhibited extraordinary leadership qualities and selflessness within these positions.
